Background

Melissa Ann Dulay was an American woman who was born in 1950 and who passed away in 2026

 

She was a singer, a dancer, an actor, a writer.  She was a teacher, a mother, a wife.  She loved the ocean, she loved the mountains.  She was happiest when she was outdoors.

 

She was a flawed person, as we all are.  But she was an honest person, especially in her writing.

 

She was a prolific writer, albeit unpublished.  But in her writing she was always honest. Sometimes brutally honest, even about herself.   While she may not have been as polished as some, she always seemed to arrive at an essential truth - whether it be fiction or in her personal journals.  

 

I could go on and on, but there’s no way I could capture the wonderful and complex woman she was.

 

Stephen King said, "Compared to the dullest human being actually walking about on the face of the earth and casting his shadow there, the most brilliantly drawn character in a novel is but a bag of bones. The most carefully considered character in a novel is but a pocket of warm air compared to even the most ordinary-functioning human being.”

 

Let her writing speak for itself.  She was much more than a bag of bones.  Much more than a pocket of warm air.
